Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Washington D.C.

Today we travel to our Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C., where Spring is in the air! Our first stop is at Arlington National Cemetery where we have tickets for the tram tour. Arlington is a tribute to those who’ve dedicated their lives to defending the ideals of our country. After we will check into our hotel, located within walking distance of the Smithsonian Museums. The hotel is in the center of the city, only blocks from the White House, the National Mall, and metro. This evening, a welcome dinner is included. (D)

Day 2 - Washington D.C.

Today, we make our way over to the Library of Congress for a self-guided tour. The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, films and video, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its collections. The Library is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress and the home of the U.S. Copyright Office.

The choice is yours for the afternoon. Walk the National Mall, visit one of the Smithsonian Museums, discover the Museum of the Bible or visit the Jefferson Memorial. There is so much DC has to offer! The evening is free to explore Washington D.C.’s dining seen. Ask your Tour Director for recommendations! (B)

Day 3 - National Cherry Blossom Festival

A full breakfast this morning before we meet our local guide for a tour of Washington DC. showcasing the new Eisenhower Memorial, Vietnam & Korean War Memorials, FDR, WWI & WW2 Memorials and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial. Enjoy the afternoon to explore our Nation’s Capital and the National Cherry Blossom Festival before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant and tour of the monuments beautifully illuminated at night. (B,D)

Day 4 - Depart Washington D.C.

After breakfast, our journey continues to George Washington’s Mount Vernon. In 1754, George Washington began residing at Mount Vernon which is a 3,000 acre estate and a house that was approximately 3,500 square feet and was originally built by his father in 1735. By his death, Washington’s Mount Vernon consisted of approximately 7,600 acres and an almost 11,000 square foot mansion. A box lunch is included before departing with visions of cherry blossoms dancing in our heads. (B,L)
