Deposits and Final Payments:
Deposit amounts are trip specific. Please refer to each trip for complete details.
Day Tours | Individual cancellations 30 -15 days prior to departure: 50% of the tour cost. Cancellation 14 days or less prior to departure: 100% of the tour cost.
Multi-Day Tours | Individual cancellations received from deposit date to 90 days prior to departure: 50% loss of deposit (deposit amount varies by tour). Cancellations 89-60 days prior to departure: Loss of deposit. Cancellations 59-36 days prior to departure: 50% loss of tour cost. Cancellations 35 days – day of departure: Loss of tour cost.
Land & Cruise Tours | Individual cancellations received from deposit date to 121 days prior to departure: Loss of deposit. Cancellations received 120-91 days from departure: 50% loss the total tour cost. Cancellations received 90-0 days prior to departure: Loss of total tour cost.
Tours of Distinction is pleased to offer a comprehensive trip protection policy, through Travel Insured International of East Hartford, CT. The policy covers Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Travel Delay, Emergency Evacuation, Accident Medical Expense, Sickness Medical Expense, and Baggage and Personal Effects. Premiums vary based on the cost of the tour. Application forms will be provided and each passenger must complete a form and return it to Tours of Distinction along with your check if purchasing trip protection. It is highly recommended that everyone purchases Trip Protection!
Tours Requiring Proof of Citizenship:
In order to comply with new customs regulations, Passports are required on all tours traveling outside the United States.
Tour Director and Driver Gratuities:
With the exception of specially noted tours, all Tours of Distinction tours include the services of a Tours of Distinction Tour Director. Therefore, customary gratuities for Drivers, Tour Directors and Local Guides (where utilized) have been included in the tour price.
Roundtrip Airport Transfers to/from your departing airport are included if your departure airport is located 50 miles or less from your pick-up address.
Pick-up locations are subject to change. Arrangements can be made to meet tours in many instances. Contact Tours of Distinction at 1-800-426-4324. Pick-up locations can be customized for small groups of 10 or more travelers.
Baggage Allowance & Baggage Handling:
Multi-Day, Land and Cruise tour passengers are allowed one suitcase free of charge, plus a small overnight bag that you may carry on board with you. Tours of Distinction assumes no liability for lost or damaged luggage or personal property. Baggage handling (at hotels) is included in the cost of the tour. Any baggage fees incurred by the airlines (for additional or overweight luggage) is the responsibility of the individual traveler.
All tour prices are subject to increase at any time due to fuel surcharges imposed by motor coach carriers, airlines or cruise lines. Prices are also subject to currency exchange rates.
All Tours of Distinction trips require a minimum number of participants to operate. Tours of Distinction reserves the right to change the departure date, as well as, cancel any trip that does not meet the minimum level of participants. In the event a tour does not meet the minimum required participants to operate the tour, Tours of Distinction reserves the right to cancel the tour (full-refund on any monies paid) and will do so no less than 45 days from departure.
Refunds: In such an event, any refunds to be issued by Tours of Distinction will be processed and sent no later than 30 days after the initial refund request.
Land Only Tours:
Land Only rates do not include airport transfers or airfare. All Land Only tours begin/end at the hotel in destination. Tours of Distinction can arrange transfers if required.
Final travel documents include a welcome aboard letter, tour director information, luggage tags, tickets and all other tour information as deemed necessary. Documents and information will be provided 21-30 days prior to departure.
Responsibilities & Disclaimers:
Tours of Distinction, Inc. acts only in the capacity of an agent in all matters connected with hotels, restaurants, tour services, attractions and transportation companies. We assume no liability for damage, injury or loss resulting from any inconvenience caused by a delay, cancellation of service, strike or any other condition beyond our control. We are in the business that plans far ahead of the tour’s start date which can, at times, leave us with a change of itinerary, attraction, meal or accommodation. Due to any unforeseen circumstances, Tours of Distinction, Inc., must reserve the right to change the booked itinerary, attractions, restaurants or accommodations. In such an event, the alternative will be of equal or greater value.
The Company shall not be liable or responsible to Customer, nor be deemed to have defaulted or breached this Agreement, for any failure or delay or, in the opinion of the Company, an event, condition or occurrence is likely to prevent, hinder or delay the Company, in fulfilling or performing any term of this Agreement when and to the extent such failure or delay or, in the opinion of the Company, an event, condition or occurrence is likely to prevent, hinder or delay the Company, is caused by or results from acts or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company including, without limitation, acts of God, flood, fire, earthquake, explosion, actions taken by a government or public authority, war, invasion or hostilities, terrorist threats or acts, riot, or other civil unrest, national emergency, revolution, insurrection, epidemic or pandemic, lock-outs, or strikes or other labor disputes (whether or not relating to either party’s workforce) (collectively, a “Force Majeure Event”). Upon the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event, the Company shall be entitled to reschedule the [Trip] or modify the trip itinerary at the Company’s sole discretion (collectively, the “New Trip”), and, if the Company schedules the New Trip, the Company shall be permitted to retain all deposits, payments and fees paid by the Customer to the Company and apply such deposits, payments and fees to the New Trip. For the avoidance of doubt, upon the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event, the Customer shall not be entitled to a refund or to terminate this Agreement.
