Southern Maine Coast & Coves

Our journey begins as we head north to Maine’s beautiful coastline. As we make our way along the coast, we will stop in beautiful York, ME for lunch, on own, at the Stonewall Kitchens, the manufacturers of Maine-made specialty condiments. Sample some of the specialty foods, or pick up a tasty gift for someone back home! After lunch, we travel to Ogunquit, ME, where we will check into our hotel for the next two nights, the Meadowmere Resort. This hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, and is a great place to unwind with our wine and cheese reception upon arrival! On our way to dinner, we will make a photo stop at the picturesque Nubble Light in Cape Neddick, Maine’s southernmost lighthouse. Tonight, dinner is included at Foster’s for a one-of-a-kind dining experience! This lobsterbake has delicious food, laughter, entertainment, and music all rolled into one fantastic event! (D)

After a hot breakfast, included at the hotel, we make our way to Portland; Maine’s largest port city where we meet our local guide for a narrated tour. Our guide will tell us all about Portland’s diverse history and show us some of its hidden gems, including the childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the historic Victoria Mansion, and the bustling Old Port. This tour will even include a stop at the Portland Head Light, the oldest and most photographed lighthouse in Maine! At the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, we will take a guided tour of the boyhood home of the poet, originally built in 1785-1786 by the poet’s grandfather. This afternoon brings us to Perkins Cove, where we have the afternoon to explore the shops and stroll along the “Marginal Way”. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant, before taking our seats for a performance at the Historic Ogunquit Playhouse, which has brought outstanding, star-studded performances to Southern Maine for five decades. Following breakfast, we depart Ogunquit for home, with a stop at the Kittery Outlets along the way! As we head for home, we have a chance to reflect on the new memories that we have made on this wonderful time in Coastal Maine!
