Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Los Angeles, CA
Check-in for your flight to Los Angeles, known as one of the nation’s most legendary destinations. Upon arrival, today we begin our five-night stay amid the beautiful beaches, luxury shopping & cuisine, and iconic theme parks of sunny southern California. Meet your Tour Director and check in at the DoubleTree Hotel Santa Monica before gathering as a group for a festive Welcome Dinner.
Day 2 - San Juan Capistrano - Laguna Beach - Newport Beach
This morning we visit Mission San Juan Capistrano, the birthplace of Orange County. Founded over 200 years ago, the Mission was a center for agriculture, industry, education and religion. Also famous for the Annual Return of the Swallows, today it is a monument to California’s multi-cultural history, embracing its Native American, Spanish, Mexican and European heritage. From there, you’ll enjoy incredible coastal views as we cruise down famous Highway 1, with stops at the charming seaside towns of Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. We’ll return to the hotel this afternoon with free time for the rest of the day.
Day 3 - San Diego
We’ll head south after breakfast this morning for a day in San Diego. We’ll start with a full tour of the city, including beautiful Balboa Park, the historic Gaslamp Quarter, the waterfront Embarcadero and the quaint Old Town neighborhood. Spend the afternoon on the water for a San Diego harbor cruise featuring the Coronado Bay Bridge, USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, the San Diego skyline and the sea lions & aquatic life that call the harbor home. We’ll then head back to our hotel for a festive New Year’s Eve Dinner Party. Put on your dancing shoes for an evening filled with games, music, party favors and a champagne toast to welcome 2024!
Day 4 - Pasadena
The Rose Parade is an iconic New Year’s Day tradition. After an early breakfast, you’ll enjoy an up-close view of this bucket list experience from reserved grandstand seats. The 2024 Parade Theme is “Celebrating a World of Music”. Bossa nova, blues, classical, country, mariachi and metal – the parade will celebrate the universal language of music. Next, it’s lunch in grand style at the legendary Lawry’s Restaurant of Beverly Hills, followed by a tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Cruise down luxurious Rodeo Drive, see the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Graumann’s Chinese Theater and much more! Finally, we return to our hotel for a well-earned evening of leisure.
Day 5 - Pasadena
Floatfest: A Rose Parade Showcase features a 2-mile showcase of Rose Parade floats following their appearance along the parade route. Rose Parade floats are required to be completely covered by flowers or other natural materials, such as leaves, seeds or bark. We’ll visit this morning for an up-close look at these incredible creations. The Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum is up next. Enjoy tours of Richard Nixon’s original birthplace and boyhood home, walk through the presidential helicopter that flew four Presidents, take in a replica of President Nixon’s Oval Office, visit the First Lady’s Garden and pay respects at the final resting places of President and Mrs. Nixon. We’ll end the day with our fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner.
Day 6 - Depart Los Angeles
One last breakfast before we leave the hotel and head home with memories of welcoming the New Year in sunny California.
