Day 1 - Arrive Vienna, Austria
Arrive in Vienna and transfer to our hotel (on own). Meet your Tour Director at 530pm and get together for a Welcome Dinner. (D)
Day 2 - Vienna
This morning, meet your local guide for a captivating journey through Vienna’s iconic landmarks. Discover the city’s grandeur as you explore its architectural masterpieces, historical sites, and cultural treasures. From the majestic Schönbrunn Palace to the vibrant St. Stephen’s Cathedral, each stop on this sightseeing tour promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of Austria’s capital. The rest of the day is yours to discover more of Vienna at your own pace. (B)
Day 3 - Vienna - Salzburg
This morning, after breakfast, we depart Vienna and journey to the charming lakeside town of Mondsee. Wander through its picturesque center and explore the baroque Basilica of St. Michael, where the iconic wedding scene from “The Sound of Music” was filmed. Then proceed to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, where a Local Guide will lead you through the city’s highlights—including the elegant Mirabell Gardens, the impressive Great Festival Hall, and the historic Residenz Square. Day 4 - Salzburg
Spend your day in Salzburg at leisure, immersing yourself in the city’s artistic and cultural offerings. Visit a museum to uncover more of Salzburg’s rich history, browse the charming shops for unique souvenirs, or indulge in local delicacies like the decadent Salzburger Nockerl dessert. We suggest an excursion through crisp mountain air and breathtaking alpine scenery to Berchtesgaden, where you’ll visit the Eagle’s Nest, Adolf Hitler’s notorious mountaintop retreat.(B)
Day 5 - Salzburg - St. Moritz, Switzerland
Today, we make our way to Innsbruck and have an orientation walk through the Old Town, where you’ll see the famous Golden Roof—a gilded balcony constructed over 500 years ago as a royal viewing box for the emperor to observe local festivities. Afterward, cross into Switzerland and enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque Engadine Valley on your way to St. Moritz. (B,D)
Day 6 - St. Moritz - Zermatt
Enjoy a relaxed morning before boarding the renowned Glacier Express for an unforgettable rail journey to Zermatt. Savor dinner on board while taking in the spectacular mountain scenery passing by your window. Upon arrival in Zermatt, we make our way to our hotel for a 1-night stay. (B,D)
Day 7 - Zermatt
Rich in tradition, natural beauty, and Alpine hospitality, car-free Zermatt promises an unforgettable experience. Spend a full free day exploring the charming village and admiring its magnificent mountain vistas at your own pace. Just relax at the hotel or talk to your Tour Director about an excursion to the Matterhorn. (B)
Day 8 - Zermatt - Bern
Board the local mountain train to Tasch, then drive to Chillon for a guided tour of its historic castle, dramatically perched on a rocky island in Lake Geneva. Follow your visit with a wine tasting before continuing to Bern, Switzerland’s captivating capital city. (B,L)
Day 9 - Bern - Lucerne
This morning, meet your Local Guide for a walking tour that begins at the Rose Garden, offering sweeping panoramic views of the city. Wander through Bern’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, admiring its decorative fountains and the charming Zytglogge clock tower, then visit Bear Park to see the city’s beloved mascot residents. On the way to Lucerne, enjoy free time in Interlaken, one of Switzerland’s most historic resort towns. (B)

This morning, embark on a walking tour of Lucerne’s highlights. Visit the poignant Lion Monument—a striking rock sculpture that Mark Twain famously described as the “saddest sculpture in the world”—and cross the iconic 14th-century Chapel Bridge spanning the River Reuss from the Old Town. Spend the afternoon at leisure discovering more of this Alpine treasure.
