Itinerary

Day 1 - Home - Saratoga, NY

Head to Saratoga, New York for today’s adventure!

First stop of the day is Haven Oaks Farm for a guided tour. Haven Oaks Farm, birthplace and home of graded stakes winner Inherit the Gold, is located in beautiful Saratoga County just 15 minutes from Saratoga Racetrack. Today, we will learn about the breeding process and how they take care of the expectant mothers. We even get to meet a mother and her foal! Feel free to get up close with them to pet and take pictures. We will also be touring the main barns and the paddocks where the horses spend their leisure time. Haven Oaks Farm has an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program. Today, we will learn more about the program and meet some therapy horses.

After the tour, we will head over to Jacob and Anthony’s for lunch. Start off with the “Triple Crown Table” which includes Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables, Assorted Seasonal Fruit, Fire Roasted Corn Salad, Caprese Salad, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Toast Points and Imported Cheeses. Next, will be the Farmers Market Salad which is served family style. For entrée choices select between: New Orleans Jambalaya (Chicken, Shrimp, Andouille Sausage and Creole Rice), Eggplant Stack (Panko-Crusted Eggplant, Roasted Tomatoes, Grilled Zucchini and Smoked Mozzarella), Chicken Milanese (Pan-Fried Cutlets served with Linguine Alfredo), or Pear and Walnut Salad with Grilled Chicken (Mixed Greens, Pear, Bleu Cheese, Dried Berries, Walnuts, Red Onion, Balsamic Vinaigrette with Grilled Chicken). All meals come with homemade fresh bread, a choice of iced tea, soda, coffee, tea and a dessert platter.

Next, we will head over to the National Racing Museum and Hall of Fame for a guided tour. The museum was founded in 1950 to honor the achievements of race horses, jockeys and trainers. It is home to a large collection of art, artifacts, and memorabilia that document the history of horse racing from the eighteenth century to the present.
