Day 1 - Waterbury, CT
Today’s tour is a new spin on the typical Oktoberfest!
Enjoy the season’s colors during a scenic train ride through the Naugatuck Valley. Take the train to Fascia’s Chocolates where you will participate in a full chocolate experience. You can take part in a multi-media presentation that encompasses the origins of chocolate and how we get from bean to bar and bar to box. Tastings and demonstrations are included. See the factory from “behind the scenes” with the help of a remote-controlled camera. This chocolate experience will leave your senses wanting more!
Lunch will be at the East Side Restaurant where you will appreciate a truly German meal. For over 70 years, East Side has been continuously family owned and operated. The experience will include a warm Bavarian atmosphere in which the staff dons traditional German clothing. All of the senses will be fully entertained during this unique dining experience. Enjoy the specialized German food and culture all without a passport! Our lunch will be served family style, with a Choice of entrée: German Pot Roast, Sauerbraten, Burger Meister, Jager Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Chicken Schnitzel, Baked Stuffed Sole, or Chicken Parmesan. All of the entrees are served with vegetables, bread and butter, coffee, tea, and dessert.
