Itinerary
Day 1 - Home - Merrimack, NH
The winter and holiday season is off to a warm start with today’s itinerary. Get prepared to be warmed through and through as you sip on some local spirits!
Make a stop at Moonlight Meadery which is a world class meadery and cidery from Londonderry, New Hampshire that specializes in meads, the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage made from honey, as well as hard ciders. The diversity of their offerings often leave people speechless, while the flavors have them asking for it from their local retailers. Stop by and try the oldest fermented beverage to find out why “History never tasted so good”. It is here that you will participate in a tour and tasting of seven meads. The tour will include a brief history of the company, history of mead, bee education, a walk through of the mead making process and ends with a tasting.
The Homestead Restaurant and Tavern will be the host of today’s lunch. Meal choice of: Chicken Cordon Bleu (Boneless Chicken, Baked Ham and Swiss Cheese Wrapped in Puff Pastry, Served with Supreme Sauce), or Petite Filet Mignon (6 oz. Center Cut Black Angus Tenderloin Slowly Aged for a Buttery Tenderness), or Broiled Haddock (Fresh Haddock Fillet Broiled in Lemon Butter Topped with Seasoned Crumbs). All entrees will come with: House Garden Salad, Baked Potato, Butternut Squash, and Dessert.
Spend some time at the brewery of the well-known Budweiser Beer. Embedded in the scenic New England countryside, the New Hampshire brewery is one of the most stunning Tour Center locations. Opened in 1970, the Merrimack Brewery is vital to the distribution of fresh beers to locations in the Northeast including Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island and more. Enjoy a tour with samples. An added bonus to this stop is the Brewery Lights which adorn the trees at the brewery.
