Itinerary
Day 1 - Home - Highland, NY
Start the day with a guided walk across the Hudson. Our guide will meet us in Poughkeepsie, NY to take us on the Walkway over the Hudson. The 1.28 mile pedestrian walking park was originally an old abandoned railroad bridge. We will stop along the way to hear the history, and to take advantage of the numerous photo opportunities. Our driver will meet us on the other side of the walkway, in Highland, NY where we will head to lunch.
Lunch will be served at Mariner’s Harbor Restaurant.
After lunch, it’s a short walk to Hudson River Cruises. It is here that we will board the Rip Van Winkle for a 2 hour cruise along the shoreline. Our experienced guide will point out the estates of millionaires, the picturesque Hudson River lighthouses, and quaint sleepy villages that are surrounded by the natural beauty of vineyards, orchards, and scenic preservation sites.
