Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart for Amsterdam, Holland
Transfer to the airport and depart on your overnight flight to Amsterdam.
Day 2 - Arrive Amsterdam
Upon arrival in Amsterdam, transfer to the Ryndham for embarkation. Once onboard, we get together for a Welcome Cocktail Party.
Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most historical cities with some of the world’s top art museums, including the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Known for its network of intricate canals, a great way to experience Amsterdam is via the canals either by foot, bike or boat. With its chic and hip cafes, don’t forget to sample a plate of bitterballen with mustard and beer or grab a cone of delicious fries covered in flavored mayonnaise.
The Ryndam departs at 5pm.
Day 3 - At Sea
Day at sea. Relax and enjoy all the features of the Ryndam.
Day 4 - Ulvik and Hardangerfjord, Norway
Hidden in a quaint corner sits the picturesque village of Ulvik. With its colorful orchards and rolling green hills, Ulvik is a fantastic place to explore using its ‘kulturlandskapsplan’ (cultural landscape plan). Don’t be afraid to chat with the local, friendly townspeople who add a spark of character to this beautiful backdrop. Later, enjoy the spectacular scenery of Hardangerfjord as we glide through the 4th largest fjord in the world; home to stocks of fish, reindeer herds, mountain fox and more.
Some optional shore excursions include: Eidfjord & the Hardanger Mountain Plateau, Utne & the Hardanger Folk Museum and Easy Ulvik.
In Port: 7am - 3pm.
Day 5 - Alesund
Ålesund has been called the most beautiful city in Norway. The twon was destroyed by fire in 1904 and rebuilt in the Jugendstil style featuring colorful buildings, detailed facades and intricate gargoyles. A highlight of any visit here is taking the 418 steps up to Mt. Aksla for amazing views of the town and Sunnmøre Alps and visiting Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its pristine and mighty waterfalls.
Some optional shore excursions include: Alesund City & Surroundings, the Islands of Giske & Godoy and Alesund Highlights & Atlantic Ocean Park.
In Port: 8am - 11pm.
Day 6 - Geiranger & Geirangerfjord
Among the world’s deepest and longest fjords, Geirangerfjord won’t disappoint with its walls of rock, waterfalls and glacial lakes. You’ll discover exactly why this area of western Norway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dock in Geiranger where you can experience this stunning landscape by skiing, hiking, kayaking and bicycle.
Some optional shore excursions include: Mount Dalsnibba & the Eagle Road, Mount Dalsnibba & the Norwegian Fjord Center and Herdal Mountain Farm.
In Port: 7am - 5pm
Day 7 - Bergen
Bergin is where you realize you do not want to leave Norway. Bergen’s maritime history is extremely reach and from the moment we step-off the Ryndam in the medieval wharf of Bryggen - a UNESCO World Heritage Site with typical boats and gabled buildings dotting the harbor front. The city is one of Europe’s oldest settlements with narrow alleyways, medieval cathedrals and fortresses with local markets selling fresh fish and souvenirs.
Some optional shore excursions include: Hardangerfjord & Highlands of Scenic Norway, Sounds of Edvard Greig & Fantoft Stave Church and Bergen & Mount Floien.
In Port: 8am - 5pm
Day 8 - Day at Sea
Day at sea. Relax and enjoy all the features of the Ryndam.
Day 9 - Amsterdam, Holland
Arrive in Amsterdam this morning and disembark the Ryndam. Then, transfer to the airport for the flight home. Upon arrival, transfer home.
The Ryndam arrives at 7am.
