In Jordon immerse yourself in the mystery and wonder of the elaborate buildings and tombs of the red rock city of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Jordon. Drive through stunning desert landscape sprinkled with Byzantine ruins to the charmingly modern city of Amman.
Day 1 - Depart for Tel Aviv, Israel

Day 2 - Arrive Tel Aviv
Welcome to Tel Aviv, Israel’s cultural and commercial capital! Meet your Tours of Distinction Tour Director and be transferred to your hotel for check in. The rest of your day is at your leisure.
Day 3 - Tel Aviv - Tiberias
Start the day with a walking tour of the picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town of Jaffa. Pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hill top. We continue our tour north to visit the archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great. Later, it is off to Megiddo where the book of Revelations mentions a great battle at the place called “Armageddon”, an ancient city inhabited for more than five millennia. After exploring the ancient ruins, we will drive toward the Sea of Galilee, stopping to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. We check into our hotel in Tiberias.
Day 4 - Sea of Galilee
Our journey today takes us to visit the sites on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee, which set the stage for many of the events in Jesus’ life. Drive along the shore of the Sea of Capernaum, known as “His Town”, where Jesus spent much of his time healing the sick and performing miracles. This afternoon we travel into the town of Tabgha to visit The Church of Multiplication ~ the site of Christ’s miracle of feeding the 5,000, and the Church of Primacy of St. Peter. From here we visit Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount”. Visit Banias before driving south to visit the Yardenit Baptismal Site.
Day 5 - Sea of Galilee - Jerusalem
Experience the tranquility and scenery on a sailboat ride on the Sea of Galilee, little has changed in the last 2000 years. Travel through the Galilee to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood and the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. We will be able to see Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church. We will visit the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha, located at the foot of the northern slope of the Gilboa Mountains, which has one of the most preserved and beautiful mosaics in Israel. On our drive to Jerusalem, we will travel through the Jordan Valley, passing by Jericho, before ascending through the Judean Mountains.
Day 6 - The Dead Sea
Today we travel through the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea on our way to Masada, situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. Ascending the cliff by cable car to the fortress, we will visit the excavations of King Harold’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more. Take in the breathtaking views of the Roman camps and Dead Sea below. After, visit the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Almost 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Bring your bathing suit, because if the weather permits it’s possible to ‘float’ on the salty ! If weather permits its possible to “float” on the salty, mineral rich water.
Day 7 - Jerusalem
Start the day at the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, then take a visit to the beautifully renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Visit Ein Karem, a picturesque village that according to tradition, is where John the Baptist was born. We will also visit Yad Vashem, which is the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, and located at the foot of Mt. Hertzl. Our last stop of the day is Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus, at the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square.
Day 8 - Jerusalem
Today, will be another day of exploring Jerusalem, where we will see the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount. We will walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, housing both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of Resurrection. We will visit Mount Zion, just outside the Old City, and the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. The Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus spent his last night and was betrayed by Judas, another site on our journey. Be sure to enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Jerusalem, from atop the Mount of Olives.
Day 9 - Jerusalem - Amman, Jordan
We travel into Jordan today and explore the ancient Roman city of Jerash, city of Decapolis. After, we will have a city tour of Amman which is the capital of Jordan. Later we check into our hotel in Amman
Day 10 - Amman - Petra
Today we drive to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land. From this view you can also see the Jordan Valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea. We continue along the Desert highway to Wado Musa, the modern village of Petra. As we enter the site we will walk, or horseback ride, to the “Siq” (Canyon). From here we walk to the Red Rock City, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd Century BC to 2nd Century AD. Later we visit the most interesting carved monuments, such as the tomb of a Nabatean King, then the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar, and more. After, we return to Wadi Musa. Our overnight is in Petra.
Day 11 - Wadi Rum - Amman
After breakfast, we will drive south to Wadi Rum. We will drive through the stunning desert landscapes on a jeep safari, visiting the Lawrence Spring and Khazali Canyon. Then head north to Madaba to visit the remains of the Byzantine Church with its ancient mosaic floor map, the oldest surviving original cartographic depiction map of the Holy Land and Jerusalem. We overnight in Amman.
Day 12 - Depart Amman
After breakfast, we cross the Jordan River heading to the airport for our flight home. Upon arrival in the USA, we transfer home filled with wonderful stories and memories about Israel & Jordan.
