Small Group Travel Makes It Even Easier

New Testing Requirements Make Small Group Tours The Best Choice

There are so many benefits traveling with a small, escorted group tour. Just some of the benefits are that you are traveling with a group of like-minded people, you don’t have to worry about getting from point A to point B, or where you are staying, eating, and even what you are seeing. All these factors have been meticulously vetted by the Tours of Distinction team of professionals.

What makes small group travel even more appealing these days in addition to being cost-effective is that solo travel can be complex. The mandate introduced in December has some solo travelers scrambling because they don’t have the network that Tours of Distinction has. This new mandate requires all passengers, whether they are vaccinated or not to take a covid-19 test within one calendar day of their departure.

The advantage of traveling with Tours of Distinction is that we have always pre-planned a Covid test for our groups one day before their departure back to the United States. If there is a fee involved we alert our clients well in advance. On our recent tour to Iceland, the test was free of charge and our small group was in and out of the test facility within 30 minutes. They had their test results emailed to their phone within the hour!

The core benefit of small group travel is the fact that we make things easy for our clients. If you plan on traveling in 2022 and have to get your Covid Test one day in advance here are a few travel tips to keep in mind.

1) If there is a fee involved, make sure that you have the appropriate cash on hand.

2) At the test facility double-check your contact information. Make sure that your name, phone number, and email is accurate because you will be receiving your test results by email on your phone.

3) Make a note of the name of the lab and their phone number in case your test results are delayed or if you have questions.

4) If everyone in your group has received their test results except you, ask your Tour Director to contact the lab immediately to find out where your results are. It could be as simple as a technician entering your email incorrectly.

5) Make sure you know where your test results are on your phone because you will have to show the certificate to customs and border control prior to boarding your flight.

6) If and when Covid-19 at-home tests become acceptable, travelers can bring these kits with them and use the results for reentry to the U.S. It is thought that these test kits will be covered by private insurance. The catch here is that these tests will have to be done under the supervision of tele-health.

The good news is that traveling doesn’t have to be complex or stressful as long as you are traveling with Tours of Distinction. We are here to make your trip all that it can be and more.
