Rene Dupuis Hi, I am Rene Dupuis, Owner, President and founder of Tours of Distinction. Born in Hartford, CT and a graduate of Western New England University, Springfield, MA, I have operated Tours of Distinction for more than 40 years. I’ve built the business on the premise that if you offer a top notch quality tour at a reasonable price you will have a successful business. And successful it is. Tours of Distinction is responsible for the travel enjoyment of more than 20,000 travelers each year. Senior Citizen and school groups from all over the Northeast contact us each year to plan their group travel programs. Rene@toursofdistinction.net Lou Ann Dupuis Being a Connecticut native, my family has been involved in the charter bus and tour business in Connecticut, for 100 years. Prior to working for Tours of Distinction, I worked in the banking industry for 13 years as Branch Manager and Account Officer. Following the local banking crash in the early 90’s, I went on to work with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation “FDIC” working in collections and asset servicing. At the conclusion of my 5 year contact with the FDIC, I came to work for Tours of Distinction, on a temporary basis, to organize and update the office finances. Eighteen years later I now head up the accounting and IT department. Louann@toursofdistinction.net John Litchfield I am a graduate of the Foreign Service School at American University In Washington, D.C. with a Master’s Degree in Government from the University of Massachusetts. I have spent my entire career in travel, beginning 45 years ago as a Tour Escort leading motorcoach tours to all parts of North America. I have spent Nearly 1500 days escorting group tours, and bring a large amount of valuable travel experience to my current position at Tours of Distinction. I have served as Vice President and General Manager of Peter Pan Tours and Vice President of Travealot Tours of Peabody, MA. I have been with Tours of Distinction now for the past 18 years. My specialty is planning and operating multi day tours for groups and some of my favorite destinations include Washington D.C. the coast of Maine, Niagara Falls, and Nova Scotia. I am a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, with an Associate and Bachelor Degree in Travel and Tourism Management. Having travelled extensively as a tour escort, I became a corporate travel agent before moving back into the group travel market, so it is suffice to say I have worked in all aspects of the tour and travel industry over the past 24 years. Prior to Tours of Distinction, I worked at Premier World Discovery as The District Sales Manager for New England. I have been lucky enough to see many of the sights in Europe, and also lived & studied in Florence, Italy for some time. In my free time I enjoy traveling, and rock climbing. My favorite travel destination is local in the beautiful State of Vermont. Brit@toursofdistinction.net Karyn Maviano I’ve been at Tours of Distinction since last April 2011, but I’ve been in the travel industry for over 23 years. I’ve always been an avid traveler and so it’s a natural fit for me to want to inspire others to “see the world”. I hold dual citizenship in the USA and Italy and spent 6 years as a Tour Manager based in Italy. During that time, I was able to travel extensively throughout Europe and visited 4 of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World. If you want to know what it feels like to ride a camel beside the Sphinx, visit the Keukenhof gardens in Holland during Tulip time, look for the Loch Ness monster or stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon – just ask me! When I’m not working, I’m an award winning quilter, like to Mountain bike and am owned by a 7 pound Yorkie named Mylo. Karyn@toursofdistinction.net Nicole Fisher Being the youngest member of the Tours of Distinction team, I like to think I keep things fresh. I bring with me a background in graphic design - which has been very helpful for creating marketing materials for new tours. I enjoy researching and learning about new destinations - it has really helped me grow my own bucket list of places that I would like to visit! When I am not working, I am an active volunteer for a local Border Collie Rescue where I help to find good homes for unwanted or abandon dogs. I have adopted three, myself!
