Day 1 - Michigan
Depart for Erie, PA where overnight lodging will be provided at the Marriott Courtyard Inn.
Day 2 - Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame
Breakfast is included this morning before we follow the shores of Lake Erie to Cleveland for a morning with the legends of rock and roll music at the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame. This will be a real trip down Memory Lane. Ahead lies Michigan and the pretty town of Holland on the shores of Lake Michigan. It’s Tulip Time in Holland and they are hosting what is rated the top small town festival in America. This year nearly a million people will come to see the tulips. Our hotel for 3 nights is the Hilton Doubletree of Holland and Dinner will be included tonight in one of the popular Tulip Time restaurants.
Day 3 - Tulip Time in Holland
Breakfast is included each morning at Hilton Doubletree, and today we will begin with a guided tour of Holland, experience the rich Dutch culture and celebrate the magnificent colors of the tulips. Also included will be Windmill Island, the home of DeZwaan Windmill, Klompen dancing and Dutch specialty shops. Dinner is again included tonight.
Day 4 - Tulips Everywhere
Breakfast and a visit to Nelis’ Dutch Village, a recreation of the Netherlands 150 years ago where people wear wooden shoes and colorful costumes as they dance in the streets. This afternoon visit Veldheer’s Tulip Gardens with 5 million tulips in bloom this week. What a sight! This is also the home of the DeKlomp Wooden Shoe & Delft Factory. Dinner is included at the Boatwerks overlooking Lake Michigan.
Day 5 - From Holland to Henry Ford
Breakfast is included and this morning we will visit the Dutch Marketplaats, pause for lunch at the popular Dutch food court (on own) and take our seats in the reserved grandstand for Holland’s colorful Muziekparade, one of the highlights of this year’s Festival. Following the Parade we’re off for Dearborn and a two night stay at the Best Western Greenfield Inn. Dinner is included at the hotel tonight.
Day 6 - Ford Museum & Greenfield Village
After breakfast we head up the street is one of America’s great Museums. Enter the world of Henry Ford, with admission provided to both Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford Museum. At Greenfield Village we travel back in time to America of the mid-1800s, a living history museum far removed from today’s fast paced society. Next door is the Ford Museum, where Henry Ford stored his vast private collection. He was a man who collected just about everything. This evening we’ll visit Edsel Ford’s home in Grosse Pointe Shores. Enjoy a tour of this fabulous lakefront mansion along with dinner.
Day 7 - Farewell to Michigan and Welcome to Canada
Breakfast is included. Today we will cross Southern Ontario to Niagara Falls where overnight lodging awaits at the Niagara Courtyard Marriott Hotel. The Marriott has a wonderful location on the Canadian side of the Falls near the popular casinos and attractions. Tonight Dinner is included in the famous revolving restaurant atop the Skylon Tower. The view from 385 feet above the Falls is one you will never forget. What a sight and what a spectacular finish to a wonderful trip.
Day 8 - Finger Lakes, NY
Breakfast is included at the hotel and after a bargain shopping stop at Duty Free we will cross New York State to the Finger Lakes. In Geneva we’ll pause for Lunch and wine tasting at Ventosa New York State Vineyards. What a lovely stop with the vine covered hillsides and scenic Lake Seneca. Return home at 8:45 PM.
