Day 1 - Calendar House to Ireland
Transfer to Bradley International Airport for your flight to Ireland with your Tours of Distinction Tour Director.
Day 2 - Dublin
Arrive in Dublin and be met by your driver-guide. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of day at leisure. Speak to your Tour Director about local sightseeing options.
Dinner and overnight at your Dublin hotel.
Day 3 - Dublin
Breakfast at your hotel. Meet with your local English-speaking guide for a half day Dublin city tour.
Visit Trinity College, the most famous university in Ireland founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth 1st of England and the scholarly home to many classical and contemporary Irish writers. You will have the opportunity to view the world famous Book of Kells and to stroll through the beautifully preserved old library.
Later, explore St Patrick’s Cathedral - Ireland’s largest church was founded beside a sacred well where St. Patrick is said to have baptised converts around 450A.D. A stone slab bearing a Celtic cross and covering the well was un-earthed at the turn of the century (20th).
No visit to Dublin is complete without the Guinness Storehouse. Opened in December 2000, the Guinness Storehouse is a whole museum dedicated to Ireland’s most famous export, Guinness stout. Entry to the Guinness Storehouse is through a pint glass-shaped atrium capable of holding 10,000 pints of stout, and there is a free pint of the magic brew for every visitor at the end of the tour in the spectacular Gravity Bar.
In the evening, transfer to the Merry Ploughboys for dinner and entertainment. Its superb location with the Dublin Mountains to its back and the city at its feet, this is a pub with a difference. A state-of-the-art venue, the quality is superb and the experience unforgettable!
Day 4 - Killarney
Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Dublin today and travel to the city of Waterford.
Stop to visit Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre - The new House of Waterford Crystal, comprises an actual living and breathing crystal factory tour, fascinating visitor centre and opulent retail store housing the largest collection of Waterford Crystal in the world.
Continue on to visit the Blarney Castle which was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland’s greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy, and has been attracting attention beyond Munster ever since.
Dinner and overnight in Killarney.
Day 5 - Ring of Kerry to Killarney
Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for a full day tour of the Ring of Kerry. A 170km tour taking in some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenery, the Ring of Kerry offers magnificent panoramas of the Atlantic ocean, picturesque rugged coastline and many small, quaint Irish villages such as Sneem.
Afternoon visit to Muckross House & Gardens which are set in the Killarney National Park.
Dinner and overnight in Killarney.
Day 6 - Clare
Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Killarney for Limerick city. Panoramic tour of the city, then continue on to Bunratty Castle and Folkpark - One of Irelands top visitor attractions, Bunratty Castle is the most complete and authentic medieval castle in the country.
The Folk Park features include a recreated village street, eight farmhouses, a watermill, blacksmiths forge, Macs pub and restaurant and a display of 19th century agricultural machinery. Later, there will be a visit the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher.
In the evening, enjoy the Bunratty Banquet - Since 1963, the Ladies of the Castle, aided and abetted by the Earl’s Butler, have welcomed guests from the four corners of the globe to dine with a four-course meal at The Earl’s Banquet at Bunratty Castle.
Overnight in Clare.
Day 7 - Dublin
Breakfast at your hotel. Travel today for a day trip to Galway city. Your driver-guide will take you on a panoramic tour of this ancient city, and there will be time for individual sightseeing and shopping. In the afternoon, transfer to Dublin.
Dinner and overnight in Dublin.
Day 8 - Ireland to Calendar House
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Dublin Airport for check-in and departure home.
